4. The working theory of the Mobile DVR surveillance solution for school bus:

The ADAS camera can alert the driver in advance before the collision, effectively preventing and alleviating the fatal traffic danger; the DSM camera analyzes the fatigue state and the distracted state in real-time by recognizing facial expression features and promptly alerts the driver. The core technology comes from independent research and development, with an international level of visual recognition algorithm engine, which is accurate and reliable.

When the ADAS camera detects the potential collision risk with the vehicle front, the vehicle distance is too close or the unconscious lane deviation, the system will remind the driver to take timely measures through the warning tone; the DSM camera can identify driver's fatigue driving, distracted driving, smoking, making phone calls, and other abnormal driving behaviour.

When the ADAS or DSM warning event is triggered, the warning information is transmitted to the vehicle management system platform (IVMS). Through the collected warning data of the driver and making in-depth driving behaviour analysis, it reduces the traffic accident rate, improves the operational efficiency for the school bus, and eases the burden for the educational supervision department.

Icarvisions provide a hybrid Mobile DVR system, consisting of a mix of analogue and network/IP cameras in place. Currently, onboard cameras become more common. Besides, real-time usage of video surveillance is viewing the video live (monitoring) or using live video as a tool during an incident. Additionally, video analyzing can be added to support the detection of an incident. The vast majority of respondents is using video footage for investigation and evidence collection. Application of AI: both DVR models are perfect to go with Ai-Box system and the ADAS and DSM can also be used as the camera where ADAS will be facing forward on-road and monitor all items and DSM will monitor the driver’s upper part of the body. Additionally, customer can connect to our external camera and internal cameras to monitor the rest of needed areas, kindly notice our external cameras are IP67 waterproofed, so it is a very good choice to mont outside of the truck.

Storage: Both Hard disk models can support 2TB storage maximum, and this will give user plenty storage space which can save at least 1 week’s footage ( 8 hours per day)

4. How does the system work?


  • Real-time data from recorder installed on each vehicle will be transmitted to the central server system via 3G/4G when the bus is running on the road. People can have access to the recorder real-time data remotely via the IVMS platform and App.
  • The central server ( including the WiFi downloading server where the recorded files will be uploaded ) is installed at the facility where the vehicles return and park overnight. And a wireless network is set up at this place which has configured to connect to the central server and provide access points in the bus lot.
  • When a vehicle returns to the facility and is in the wireless network range, the Wi-Fi radios on each vehicle automatically connect to the access points - directly transmitting any scheduled, automatic event-based, or end-user requested video contents to the WiFi downloading server wirelessly and cost-effectively.
Computers connected to the server via Cellular/Wi-Fi and using the IVMS client software or MDVRPlayer playback software can quickly and easily search the video database on selected criteria. Besides the basic video contents, end-users can also get extensive email alerts and MDVR system reports like the mileage report, alarm reports speed report, etc., recorder health reports based on the operator’s requested.
